Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

I think yohan blake brought it home for jamaica, he ran the 3rd leg very fast

  2. So Gay was doping and Blake was still faster lol

  3. The entire US men’s 4×100 relay team got stripped of their silver medals a couple of days ago because of Tyson Gay’s doping again.

Bolt switches hands in a 4×1… because hes bolt

  5. That awkward moment when Ryan Bailey thought he could catch bolt hahahaha ha

    • Alex Davis You couldn’t have given that guy a better reply. Lol.

    • I’ve started responding to some of these guys you know cause they are quite frankly too rude. If their comments reflect the attitude that goes into their foreign policy, I can clearly see why some Nations hate them.

jordan meares he wouldn’t think that. Yeah, people beat him, but when he’s in front, you aren’t catchin him

  6. That moment of SYCHE at 4:45 !

    Bwwwahahahahahahahahahahaaa!

    • +navyman4 what the hell is superheterodyne I’m 14 and that’s a very big word.

It’s a process where a radio frequency is mixed with an oscillating frequency to “demodulate”a signal. Basically, a way of taking radio waves and stripping the information off of a carrier radio wave. Your phone has one. That’s how they work. Phones are just two way radios that happen to have big screens and capability of impressing data upon a radio frequency carrier and beaming it to a cell phone tower….across a fiber optic network underground…..then perhaps to a satellite, back down to a cell tower and to your friend’s phone all in milliseconds.

    • Bwaaahaaahhaaahhha at ya’ll not understanding psyche meaning “the human soul, mind, or spirit.”..sike no psych!
      Bwwwahahahahahahahahahahaaa

    • It’s a shortened version of the slang “I just psyched you out,” which can mean “to put someone off” or to say it another way to steer someone off course. It morphed into a phrase celebrating that you had misdirected someone. Via a MISSPELLING, it came to also be written as “sike.”

Hmm. It seems that you are right. I stand corrected. Finally an educated youtube commenter. and thank you.

  7. Imagine if zombies were Jamaican

who else saw when usain bolt ran past the women and she thought he was giving it to her lmao

  9. blake is real hero in this one

  10. Blake was definitely the MVP of the Jamaican team

    • +ronald kunwei What was racist about that? Why are you trying to bring up racism when there is no racism???!!!! And Usain Bolt holds the fastest 100m split ever 8,65s with Powell in second place 8,68s. If you look at the split times of this race you will see that Tysons splis was faster than Yohans.

    • Powell in Beijing 2008 had the FASTEST split in Olympic history!

    • filip maybe blake has the fastest relay bend split

    • That was a crazy run by Blake but i also think Team USA helped Jamaica break the record with the stiff challenge

    • Brian Oluma but the usa team is drugged up lol with gatlin and tyson

  11. Having Blake and Bolt to do your last 2 legs is like playing the Olympics with a cheat code.

commenters thought that there were a problem with the pass but the judges just wanted the baton back hahahaha

    • there was actually a problem with a pass Canada got DQ and put Trinidad and Tobago into bronze

tmat04 I get what you are saying, as a viewer you sometimes think that those commemtators are morrons. Fact is, I bet you to do 4hours of talking (all track& field) probably after an exhausting week (olympics is not a day event) and then after all of that millions of people check in to whatch just this race and you have to watch everything that’s happening in no less than 36.84 and having nothing wrong.
Ofcourse, I agree with your statement: it is there job and some things are just dead obvious. But other things aren’t and we should at least be glad that we have a positive exciting commentator who offers us a little bit more insight and fun during and close after the race.
End of shitting, drop the mic.

    • There was actually a problem, candada got dq

  13. Theafricanlakekayak June 18, 2016 @ 3:52 am

yohan blake was incredibly fast he was the main guy who won it

  14. Can’t imagine how much faster it would be with Powell in

  15. Am I the only one to find the way the mascot came out at 3:55 amusing.

  16. Feel awful for Canada…

  17. Blake’s leg was easily the best, set up Bolt ftw

  18. Best 36.85 seconds of my life.

  19. SaintLaurent don August 13, 2016 @ 7:33 pm
